About

Let me introduce myself.

We are motivated to adopt an artistic, socio-cultural and developmental project that allows gathering expert academic trainers who have diverse performing arts experiences, with several emerging and established theatre artists. The project aims to build capacity through training and nurturing the artistic individuality of the theatre voices of tomorrow. It offers intensive training courses, workshops, seminars and ongoing professional support. It aims to be the place to look for a new generation of theatre artists. MISSION: Establishing a performing arts practices’ lab that will provide a training and educational service for performance arts, outside the formal educational frameworks. This will open up wider horizons for the performing arts. That allows creating creative concepts that are rich in terms of diversity, within an artistic and exploratory approach that includes caring about providing accessibility to the performing arts and developing its practices. AIMS: The main aim of this school is to transmit to the participants, various resources and means with which to deepen and develop the capacities of their work based on physicality, composition and different levels of relationship in the domain of the Performing Arts (Theatre and Dance). The workshop will explore the dramaturgy of the physical action, through the commitment of the body: as interrelation, as a composition element and in the perception and understanding of the space as 'habitat' where to place the participants’ active presence when performing or 'acting'. 1. Introducing the participants to different theatre arts from starting points that go beyond the traditional knowledge, with a focus on the performing arts and differentiate it from the art of acting, which is just a component of the performing arts. 2. Teaching participants different methods, styles and techniques of performing arts. 3. To train the participants in the art of improvisational performance in its various forms and dialects, and ways to benefit from them, whether in the traditional plays or beyond. 4. Emphasis on learning the ethics of the profession. TARGET GROUP: • Performers • Technicians • Directors • Playwrights • Arts Managers
